Legal Aid Alberta provides quality, effective legal advice and representation that enables eligible Albertans to resolve their legal issues. Eligibility guidelines are on its web site.
It is an independent, publicly funded, not-for-profit organization that provides a broad range of services in family law and child welfare, adult criminal law, youth criminal law, immigration and refugee law and some civil legal areas.

Student Legal Services of Edmonton (SLS) is a non-profit, student-run organization registered under the Societies’ Act. It is structured and operates much as it has since its formation in 1969 in consultation with the Law Society of Alberta. It is governed by a Management Committee of six students and receives direction from our Board of Directors. We provide legal information to the Edmonton and surrounding area low-income community and to students who meet our income guidelines.
Edmonton Community Legal Centre
ECLC provides free legal information and advice to people in the Edmonton area. They will do their best to resolve your legal issue through legal information, advice, or referrals to appropriate agencies. We help individuals and families who have legal problems in the following areas: Landlord and tenant matters, employment/wrongful dismissal, small claims, debt, human rights, immigration including TFWs, income supports advocacy.
