World Mental Health Day
October 10: World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10th every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.
Mental health refers to a broad array of activities directly or indirectly related to the promotion of well-being, the prevention of mental disorders, and the treatment and rehabilitation of people affected by mental disorders.
CMHA estimates that 1 in 5 adults experience a mental illness. However, 5 in 5 of us have mental health.
The day aims to get us all talking openly about mental illnesses, as well as the treatment and prevention that are available to us all. It is also a day where we can share strategies that we have in our own lives that help us to preserve our mental wellness — especially during times of stress.
What can you do?
